Your Responsibilities

As a Junior Software Designer, you'll develop your technical expertise while contributing to the software that controls advanced semiconductor machines.

  • Develop machine control software using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and/or Siemens PLC under the guidance of experienced colleagues.

  • Develop and maintain software components in C++ and/or C#.

  • Support the translation of system requirements into software designs.

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and testing software for complex machine control systems.

  • Participate in software integration, testing, and commissioning of semiconductor equipment.

  • Collaborate with software, electronics, mechanics, and systems engineers in multidisciplinary Scrum teams.

  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve your software engineering skills.

  • Learn about software architecture, machine control, and best engineering practices from experienced colleagues.

You will join an internationally operating high-tech engineering organization based in the Brainport Eindhoven region. The company develops advanced software and technology for customers within the semiconductor, high-tech machine building, medical technology, and industrial automation sectors.

Working in multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll contribute to the complete development lifecycle of complex systems—from concept and software design to implementation, integration, and commissioning. You'll be surrounded by experienced engineers who enjoy sharing their knowledge and helping you grow into an independent Software Designer.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 0-3 years of experience in software development, industrial automation, embedded software, or high-tech engineering.

  • Experience with or strong affinity for C++, C#, and/or PLC programming.

  • Basic knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles.

  • Affinity with machine control, industrial automation, or semiconductor equipment.

  • Experience working on technical projects during internships, graduation assignments, or your first professional role.

  • Familiar with Git or other version control systems.

  • Eager to learn and develop yourself within a high-tech engineering environment.

Nice to have

  • Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or Siemens PLC

  • Python

  • Industrial automation projects

  • Embedded software

  • Knowledge of Scrum or Agile
