Technical Operations Supervisor – Aerospace & Space

Job description

Space Industry · Noordwijk · Technical supervision at a leading European space test centre · €4,000 – €4,500 gross p/m

Introduction
Would you like to work in a technical test centre where satellites and other high-value space components are tested? As Technical Operations Supervisor, you ensure that the test floor, infrastructure and daily activities remain safe and run smoothly. You will work in a unique high-tech environment involving heavy technical equipment, contractors and international customer teams. Rather than conducting tests yourself, you are the person who maintains oversight, takes ownership and steps in when something is not right.

Your responsibilities
As Technical Operations Supervisor, you are a key technical and operational point of contact on the test floor, with a continuous focus on safety, quality and smooth operations.

  • You supervise activities on the test floor and ensure work is carried out safely and according to applicable procedures.
  • You support and supervise contractors performing maintenance on cranes, access equipment, lifting equipment and other technical infrastructure.
  • You identify technical, operational and safety issues and take action to ensure they are resolved.
  • You coordinate daily activities with engineers, facility management, contractors, support teams and customers.
  • You support internal logistics, storage activities and the availability of tools, materials and spare parts.

Company profile
You will join a technical organisation responsible for operating and maintaining a leading space test centre in Noordwijk. Satellites and other advanced space components are tested here, with some test objects weighing dozens of tonnes. The organisation consists of more than 20 professionals working closely with engineers, maintenance contractors, suppliers and international customers. The culture suits people who take ownership and speak up when something could be done better or more safely. This gives you the opportunity to combine your technical experience with coordination, communication and hands-on problem-solving.

Your profile

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as maintenance, technical services, facility management, infrastructure or an industrial environment.
  • You have completed a technical education at MBO level or hold a technical HBO/Bachelor's degree.
  • You have a broad technical understanding of installations, maintenance activities and heavy equipment.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • You are independent, observant and confident enough to address colleagues, contractors and customers when activities are unsafe or not carried out according to procedures.
  • Experience with cranes, cherry pickers, lifting equipment, lifting & handling operations, heavy transport or building-related installations is a plus.

Can’t tick every box, but still see yourself in this role? We’d still love to receive your application!

Offer

  • An indicative salary of €4,000 to €4,500 gross per month based on full-time employment, with the final range still to be confirmed.
  • A full-time position in a unique technical environment within the European space industry.
  • A varied position combining technology, safety, infrastructure and operational coordination.
  • A high level of responsibility and daily interaction with technical specialists, contractors and international customer teams.
  • A long-term opportunity, with the possibility of transferring to IABG after approximately one year.
