Do you want to work on a new equipment for Semiconductor industry, do you have a PhD Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent and are you experienced in working on complex systems? Read on and find out if this is your next job!

You will involved in the development of new techniques for the Semiconductor industry based on Ultrasound and Acoustic imaging and detection. You will performe simulations in FEM and MATLAB, Design and build work Prototypes for the technical challenges of customers. Together with your colleagues you will analyze and predict customer needs, translate these to system requirements, create conceptual designs and build experimental setups to demonstrate key aspects, and realize and experimentally characterize prototypes.

You perform research into high-resolution ultrasound/acoustic imaging devices and sensors and research in building experimental set-ups for proof-of-concept of acoustic metrology for the envisioned applications.


  • You will be involved in the research and development (R&D) of the next generation ultrasound imaging systems for metrology applications.
  • Recommend design changes or substitution of materials when appropriate
  • Advise users of appropriate actions to correct malfunctions and may recommend changes in user procedures
  • Develop concepts based on ultrasound/acoustic imaging and detection.
  • Research into high-resolution ultrasound/acoustic imaging devices and sensors and research in building experimental set-ups

Qualification and Experience

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on acoustic/ultrasound simulations and experiments
  • At least 5 years of experience as ultrasound expert
  • Experience in acoustic metrology and imaging
  • Experience in building experimental set-ups
  • Understanding of the Semiconductor industry and the challeges it faces
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Pro-active, problem solving and hand-on attitude
  • Familiar with writing reports
  • Good communication skills
